OAKVILLE, ON (July 23, 2012) – On the eve of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games that will see two of its own – Adam van Koeverden and Mark Oldershaw – represent Canada on the world paddling stage, Burloak Canoe Club (BCC) today launched its new 2012 Sponsorship Program.
The program and packages – available at www.burloakcanoe.com under the Our Supporters tab – offer individuals and organizations an opportunity to capture the Olympic spirit and support BCC’s world-class sprint canoe/kayak programs, facilities and local athletes.
A Friend of Burloak package – which features acknowledgement on the BCC website – is available for a one-time contribution of $250. Bronze level sponsorships are $500 and include one-year naming rights on a single-person canoe or kayak. Silver, Gold and Platinum packages are offered for $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 respectively. Inclusions at these levels are detailed in the Club’s Sponsorship package.
New sponsors for 2012 already include Sheddon Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic (Gold), Bericap North America (Silver), Bentall-Kennedy (Bronze), and Roe* Massage Therapy & Associates (Bronze).

In addition to van Koeverden (2004 Athens, 2008 Sydney) and Oldershaw (2008 Sydney), Burloak Canoe Club is home to a number of past and present Canadian Olympians, including: Brady Reardon (2008 Beijing), Larry Cain (1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona), Scott Oldershaw** (1984 Los Angeles) and Jim Reardon (1972 Munich).
2012 World Cup Champion in Women’s Credit union fees C-1 and C-2 Mallorie Nicholson also trains at BCC.
