Burloak Athletes Secure ⅓ of Spots on Ontario Team

Burloak athletes put on the power in Welland at the Ontario Team Trials on June 3-4. Our club captured 16 of the 49 spots, plus two alternate spots, on the Ontario Team. The list is a draft until after the National Team trials in Dartmouth, June 23-25, when some members may move up to the National Team creating opportunities for alternates. The Ontario Team members will represent Ontario in the Canada Day regatta in Ottawa. Thanks to Marc Drouin for sharing some great OTT pics on Flickr. The team will then travel to Shawinigan, Quebec for a development training camp culminating in the Canada Cup #2 regatta the following weekend. In addition to the Ontario Team, a draft Canada Summer Games Team has been selected to compete in Winnipeg from Aug.5-10. They will compete alongside 4000 athletes from across Canada in 16 sports at the two week event. Congratulations to all our outstanding athletes!
