Elementary Programs

U11, U13, U15 (8-15 yrs old)

Burloak Canoe Club’s Elementary Program caters to both experienced and inexperienced youth paddlers. Participants learn to paddle all boats (sprint canoe and sprint kayak) – singles, doubles, fours and war canoe. Practices are run in a group environment, mixing with other groups when appropriate.

Participants have the opportunity to compete in age-class regattas and championships. The season, which runs from May-October, is capped with a Provincial Championship for U13 and U15 paddlers, and a Divisional Championship for U11/U13 paddlers.

Canoe Kids Summer Camp

The Canoe Kids Summer Camp program is a one-week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) introduction to sprint canoeing and kayaking for children ages eight and up run in partnership with the Town of Oakville. The camp runs for multiple weeks from the beginning of July to mid-August.

All Canoe Kids are invited to join the Burloak Canoe Club and transition to the Club’s Elementary Program. Canoe Kids who join the club have their memberships prorated.
